The power of Disney

Disney is one of the most widely known companies on the planet. I was amazed at Disney's reach when I studied abroad in Japan. All of the kids in my class had some sort of Disney merchandise, whether it was a Lilo and Stitch backpacks to Pooh earrings, the kids in my class were obsessed. My classmates would go to Disneyland every single weekend if they could, and some did. The reach and power of Disney is absolutely amazing. Disney owns Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. Disney has a net worth of 130 billion dollars. They have reach in virtually every country on earth. They produce their own ideas, movies, toys, publications, theme parks, clothes, and even food. The list is endless. Disney can fund, produce, film, and distribute their own movies, then sell millions of dollars of merchandise based off the film. In this way, Disney's integration is vertical. They can be involved in every step of whatever project they are undergoing, from the very beginning to the finished product. By acquiring new companies, their reach becomes greater and greater. By purchasing the Star Wars franchise, their business grew exponentially. The Star Wars fan base is enormous, and the Star Wars movies are huge blockbuster hits. The Disney corporation is a powerful global force will only keep expanding and acquiring companies until the end of time, just like the Roman Empire. Oh wait...
